Every November, Musco Center for the Arts’ stage comes alive with a captivating show featuring diverse, impactful pieces choreographed by faculty members and performed by Chapman University dance majors.

Pieces in this year’s show are choreographed by faculty members such as: Jenny Backhaus, Doug Baum, Julianne O’Brien, Jessica Torres and Ido Tadmor. The genres range from modern to ballet — even including repertory from the Broadway show: “Sophisticated Ladies.”

I am usually the one in front of the camera at dance performances, but this time, I had the privilege of watching the preparation through a different lens. Let’s step behind the curtain and into the spotlight of a Fall Faculty Concert dress rehearsal, where the hard work and final touches come together to prepare Chapman’s dance majors for the stage.
