As the sun scorched the concrete, Chapman Greek life from far and wide flocked to the dorm pools to gear up and compete in one of Chapman’s fiercest competitions, Anchorsplash.

Kicking it back to the 80s, Delta Gamma’s yearly philanthropy event theme was “Miami Vice,” where each fraternity and sorority paired up and prepared a routine for the throwback artist of their choice.

The judges graded on music, costumes, crowd energy, safety and choreography this year.

As the crowd waited in anticipation to hear the winner of Anchorsplash 2024, tension looms in the air.

Beta Theta Pi and Alpha Chi Omega were crowned the 2024 Anchorsplash champions thanks to their flawless Prince-themed routine and celebrated with a dip in the pool.

Raising over $17,000 for Service for Sight, senior Ava Coleman, director of philanthropy, said this was their most successful yet.

“It surprised me the most this year is how intricate and impressive the routines were,” said Coleman. “It was really, really hard for our judges to pick a winning routine and this was the closest it's ever been.”
