Chapman University launches new Student Center website

Chapman University’s my.chapman.edu website is no longer active as of March 13; instead, students have been redirected to the university’s new Student Center website. Many of the main functions, including an option to update profile information, check financial activity and manage classes, were moved over from the older website.

The Student Center website was created to be more mobile-friendly, since the older website had been created with an older technology.

“These changes are being made to improve our technological infrastructure, enhance our cyber security, improve the web experience and adhere to accessibility and responsive needs,” Dean of Students Jerry Price wrote in a March 7 email sent to the Chapman community.

The new website is also mandating that students use two-factor authentication, which requires students to provide a phone number and have the Microsoft Authenticator app downloaded on a mobile device. This extra level of security is already used for other internet services by the university such as Canvas.

Students are encouraged to visit the Student Center Support page on the university’s website for additional resources.

The Panther will post a follow-up article detailing how to use the new interface and featuring student perspectives on this change when the Chapman community returns from spring break.
