As many seniors approach their ever enclosing graduation day, many have been questioning what comes after college. Lucky for them, Chapman University offers a variety of resources for seniors in order to provide some support with searching for job opportunities after graduation.

Chapman University hosts a career fair in the fall and spring semesters where students are welcome to meet 100+ companies and employers.

Turner White, a former Chapman student Business Admin Major, graduated 2025, shares his experience with the career fair that led to his position at Greystar Real Estate Company.

“I had never gone to the career fair before. I had a bad stigma, but I went, kept an open mind, started talking to people, showed interest, wore a suit, got some cards, and got the opportunity to follow up with someone,” White said. “The overall experience of the career fair was extremely positive. The career fair led to an interview, which is the ultimate goal. Not to get a job, but an interview.”

White added, “I would definitely recommend it for seniors, I was a second-semester senior and went to the last career fair of the year, and got a job straight out of college. I would not have this job if it wouldn't have been for the career fair. I love my job, I fell in love with the company and I really like the people I work with.”

Chapman alumni, Economics major Luke Whittaker graduated in 2025, shares his thoughts on his process in acquiring his job out of college.

“I got my job at Matthews Real Estate Services straight out of college through my fraternity Pi Kappa Alpha. A representative came to chapter (and) left his information. After following up I got an interview and then the internship for a three-month training program that would lead to a job,” said Whittaker.

Whittaker also said that the company where he currently works also attended the Career Fair.

“I think that there are enough opportunities within the career fair and clubs on campus that you can definitely find a job there. It isn’t assured you will get the job, but you will get the opportunity,” Whittaker added. “I still get emails from Chapman post grad, asking to help out. I would feel pretty confident in them helping me find a job.”

Current senior Business Finance major Marcus DeGuzman shares his thoughts on how he currently feels as graduation day approaches and if he feels supported by the university.

“I’m scared right now that my life is not going to be completely figured out and I am going to be in a new environment because I have had a structure for 18 years of my life and leaving that gives me a lot of anxiety,” DeGuzman said.

“I know Chapman has good connections but I am unsure how to find them. It is hard opening up to professors or alumni at Chapman because I don’t know much about it. I don't know how to use what they offer or even what they offer in the first place,” DeGuzman said. “I would want Chapman to send out more emails for what events are going on, what people you can reach out to, and be there for students more in order to feel supported.”

Seniors naturally are faced with a lot of concerns going into this year, particularly due to the expectations that they are met with once this year comes to a close. It is important to note what Chapman offers in order for students to feel supported during this challenging time.
