Maybe someday I’ll learn to let go and let others take the reins. Maybe someday I’ll feel comfortable submitting B+ work. Call me a control freak, but that’s why I hate group projects.

There’s sweat on my brow. My hands are trembling.

It’s time to register for classes for next semester.

The double standard occurring on Capitol Hill right now is ridiculous. It’s inexcusable, embarrassing and reveals the true colors of the current political parties in Washington.

College is a time where we’re able to spread our wings, make new friends and learn how to live on our own as real-life adults. Why not offset that stress by packing a duffel bag and spending some time away from it all?

What I didn’t expect when I started working for The Panther, what I couldn’t have imagined when we published our first issue this semester, was the unwillingness of Chapman to work with us. 

What are the odds that the day before former President George W. Bush is scheduled to speak on campus, he finds himself at the center of attention for hanging out with Ellen at a football game.

The transition from high school to college was already difficult enough. Now try adding in the fact that I’d never even seen alcohol in-person before I came to Chapman.

I don’t want to discredit and discourage those who are giving up straws – it’s a worthy gesture that no doubt has a positive impact on the environment. My concern is that people will think that small change is enough to make a difference. 

There’s one thing I hate about Orange that hasn’t changed since I got here: getting around. Going from point A to point B. Parking. Anything that includes movement throughout the city of Orange is an absolute pain and I’m tired of it.

Maybe I’m frustrated with how excluded the Greek life system has made some students feel. Maybe I’m just upset that Chapman lied about how significant it is on campus. Maybe I think the entire Greek life system is alienating students who don’t join.

As I sat among my fellow Panthers this past week, I anxiously awaited the question some of us dread: “What did you do over the summer?”

Break up with your homophobic partner. If you consider yourself a supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community, you can’t date someone who doesn’t share this support.

Believe it or not, some upperclassmen struggle returning to the collegiate atmosphere. I’m one of them.
